“What do I believe?”
- I believe in scientific outreach.
- I believe in community activism and service.
- I believe in learning as you grow and growing as you learn.
- I believe that the changes the future will bring, particularly through technology, will ultimately benefit the human race, provided we see it through.
- I believe that one can never fully realize the impact he or she will have on the lives of others, and for this reason alone, one should err on the side of caution by being extra-good.
- I believe Benjamin Franklin was a genius.
- I believe that one should be in contact with people of all ages at all stages in one’s life, to stay young and sober.
“What do I wonder about?”
- I wonder if there’s intelligent life outside our solar system.
- I wonder what will I be thinking about in twenty years, and if our lives will be radically different.
- I wonder if my future children will appreciate that I thought about them many years before they were born.
- I wonder if utilitarians should consider people that are expected to be, but are not yet born, in their calculus of utility.
- I wonder if psychologists will ever be able to use programs to accurately identify a person’s soulmate.
- I wonder how the future of healthcare technology will improve patient-centered medicine.
