Music

January 11th, 2010

My introduction to guitar began with a partly unstrung classical guitar that decorated my father’s library. Although he never had the chance to learn, at the age of thirteen I received my very own sweet cherry red Ibanez GAX-70, an instrument built for rebellious hard rock but versatile enough for developing any technique. Hershey High School buddies Dan Heinl, Jesse Wright, and Mike Stang (Hierosonic) shared their love of music during countless jazz, funk, experimental, rock, and jam-band inspired jam sessions.

After a hiatus from jamming, I returned to discover the music of gypsy jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt, and was formally introduced to jazz technique by instructor Matthew Dunne. The world will never be the same.
